The Commission will annually seek nominees for the Humanitarian Award who work tirelessly and believe in equality and the welfare of others, and have contributed to the growth and development of cultural diversity for all citizens in the community.

Recipient Requirements : Any person who has demonstrated support or service in promoting diversity in the community. Nominees should have ties to the community by living, working, or volunteering in Sioux Falls. Current Sioux Falls Human Relations Commissioners and City employees are not eligible.

Criteria : The individual chosen will embody the spirit of humanitarianism in Sioux Falls. The Commission is seeking nominees who work tirelessly and believe in equality and the welfare of others and have contributed to the growth and development of cultural diversity for all citizens.

The Humanitarian Award nomination process is held early summer with the awards presentation and dinner in late fall.
