Recodification of City Ordinances

The Code of Ordinances must be updated/recodified at least every 20 years.  In 2011, City Council passed a supplemental appropriation enabling the City to contract with American Legal, the City’s publisher, to perform a technical review of the City’s ordinances. The update was completed in 2012.

So you received a traffic or other ordinance citation - now what?

If you don’t want to contest the violation, most citations can be paid prior to the court date listed on the citation without having to make a court appearance. Payments should be made to the Minnehaha County Clerk of Courts.
