Biography

Jim Entenman was born and raised in Sioux Falls. He graduated from Washington High School and attended Northern State. He is a local businessman with a strong involvement in the community.

In 1975, Jim and his family opened J&L Harley-Davidson. In their 35 years of business, J&L has grown from a small shop to one of the largest motorcycle dealerships in the Midwest.

Jim has contributed a lot of time and resources to Sioux Falls and the surrounding communities. He has served previously on the Brandon City Council, the Make-A-Wish Foundation of South Dakota Board of Directors, the South Dakota Auto Dealers Association Board, and the American Red Cross Development Committee. He was also a member and served two terms as president of the National Harley-Davidson Dealer Advisory Council, and as a member of the Harley-Davidson Financial Services Dealer Advisory Council. Jim is a former chairman of the Sioux Falls Convention and Visitors Bureau.

Currently, Jim serves on the South Dakota Board of Tourism, the Sioux Falls Sports Authority, and the Mayor’s Events Center Task Force.

When he’s not working, Jim enjoys riding his Harley-Davidson Road Glide with his wife, Jill, and spending time with his three children: sons Jim and Joe and daughter Anna.
