Public Parking Advisory Board

The purpose of the Public Parking Advisory Board is to provide sufficient, convenient, safe, and attractive parking for a vibrant downtown Sioux Falls. The Public Parking facilities administers and serves a parking system in a growing financial and retail core area located in downtown Sioux Falls.

The parking system consists of 5 parking ramps, 15 surface parking lots, and 960 on- and off-street parking meters.

Must be a resident and registered voter of Sioux Falls.

Duties

Duties of the Public Parking Advisory Board (PPAB):

  • Comprised of seven members.
  • Board members are appointed by the Mayor.
  • The members of the PPAB shall serve for three years.
  • The PPAB shall elect from its members a president, vice president, and a secretary.
  • Four members present shall constitute a quorum for conducting official business.
  • Members of the PPAB shall serve without compensation.
  • In matters concerning ethics and conflict of interest, Ordinance No. 88-95 shall be followed.
  • The PPAB shall hold meetings quarterly.
