Gitchie Girl Authors and Survivor to Appear at Siouxland Libraries Prairie West Branch
Phil and Sandy Hamman, authors of the best-selling true crime book Gitchie Girl, will share the inside story of the 1973 murder of four teens at Gitchie Manitou State Park at a presentation hosted by Siouxland Libraries. Sandra Cheskey, the lone survivor of the horrific event, will attend as well.
The Thursday, November 9, 2017, 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. presentation at the Prairie West Branch, 7630 West 26th Street, will also focus on Cheskey’s struggles to rebuild her life emotionally and spiritually following a sexual assault that night. After publishing Gitchie Girl in January 2016, the Hamman’s book became a No. 1 national best seller on several of Barnes & Noble and Amazon’s true crime lists.
The event is free and open to the public. No registration is required. A question-and-answer session and book signing will follow. Books will be available for purchase.
If an ADA accommodation is needed, please contact the Human Relations Office at 605 367 8745 or firstname.lastname@example.org at least 72 hours before the event.
