Hartman Named New General Manager of Sioux Area Metro
Sioux Area Metro (SAM) and the City of Sioux Falls Planning Office have announced the appointment of Randy Hartman to general manager of the transit system. He began work at SAM in 1991. In this position, Hartman will be responsible for daily operations at SAM.
“Randy has a very strong understanding of the planning and operations of Sioux Area Metro. Randy also has demonstrated great leadership that made him a great selection as the Sioux Area Metro general manager,” says Sam Trebilcock, Transportation Planner for the City of Sioux Falls.
Eric Meyerson recently retired after five years as the general manager of Sioux Area Metro. Randy Hartman began his duties as general manager on October 2. Randy was previously the Assistant General Manager with SAM.
SAM provides public transportation services throughout the City of Sioux Falls. It provides more than 900,000 rides per year and employs 100 drivers, maintenance technicians, and support personnel. SAM’s main transportation hub is located in downtown Sioux Falls at 120 East 11th Street. The newly remodeled transportation depot is expected to reopen by early November 2017.
