Transportation of Ash Wood Now Allowed

In May 2018 in an effort to slow the spread of the tree-killing emerald ash borer (EAB), City officials restricted the movement of ash wood within city limits between Memorial Day and Labor Day.

“Now that Labor Day has arrived and the EAB beetle is no longer actively moving, people can safely transport ash wood within the city limits and quarantine area until Memorial Day 2019 without fear of spreading the infestation,” says Kelby Mieras, Parks Operations Manager.

Three drop-off sites are available for people wishing to dispose of ash wood.
