Sioux Area Metro Paratransit is a origin-to-destination shared ride transportation service for persons who are, due to their functional limitation(s), unable to use accessible fixed route bus service. Passengers must be certified eligible per guidelines established in the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).

Sioux Area Metro's fixed route buses are accessible to people with disabilities. Each bus is equipped with a wheelchair lift or ramp along with two wheelchair securement locations. Sioux Area Metro provides free individualized travel training to assist new passengers in learning how to ride these buses.

Bus Stop Accessibility

If you are not able to access a bus stop on the fixed-route system due to a functional disability, you may be eligible for Paratransit service.

Service Area

Hours of Service

Day Service Hours

Monday through Friday: 5:15 a.m. to 7:15 p.m.
Inside the required ADA service areas (pale yellow, bright yellow, and orange colored areas).

Saturdays: 7:30 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Inside the required weekend ADA service areas (pale yellow and bright yellow colored areas only).

Exception: Any rider who acquired eligibility for Paratransit services prior to January 1, 2015; service is also available to ride anywhere during day service hours inside the thick red bordered area. (This exception ends if the rider moves to a residence outside of the required ADA service area.)

Evening Service Hours

Services available for all riders only within the required evening ADA service area (pale yellow colored area) during the following hours: Monday–Friday: 7:15 p.m. to 9:15 p.m.*

*Service ends at 9:30 p.m. if coming from area of Route 6.
