Sioux Falls Community Garden 2014 Season

Thank you, Community Gardeners!

Interest in the Community Garden program continues to build each year.  As of February 24, 2014, all garden locations are full.   We are not able to take any further applications for the 2014 Community Garden Season.  Waiting lists for all locations have been developed.

If your application has been successful, you should receive notification and an invoice for your 2014 Community Garden plot during the first week in March.  The season fee for all gardens is $15 per garden.  Unsuccessful applicants will be notified by April 1, 2014.

The Sioux Falls Community Garden is a cooperative effort involving the City of Sioux Falls, Minnehaha County Master Gardeners, Minnehaha County Extension Service, and a dedicated group of volunteers, including more than 200 individual gardeners.

Garden placement is on a first-come, first-served basis with priority given to people who successfully gardened in the Sioux Falls Community Garden program the previous year.

People who choose to be community gardeners are expected to maintain their garden plots for the entire growing season and to provide volunteer help in preparing the garden sites with activities such as staking plots and applying organic mulch. Gardeners are also expected to clean their plots at the end of each growing season.

Applications for the 2015 Community Garden Season will be available at the Park Office or online starting no later than January 5, 2015.
