Woofstock 2014: Sunday October 5, 2014, 1-4 p.m.
This “dog festival” offers live entertainment and a variety of activities for dogs and their owners large and small. Bring your pooch out to enter one of the many fun and interesting categories, or come out to watch contests of all varieties including an agility course! Owners may enter their dogs into a number of categorized contests from longest tail to smallest dog to which dog looks the most like his or her owner. After registering your dog, people and pets can enter into the park area where a number of games inside the fenced in area will be set up for the owners and their pets to partake in such as musical chairs and Frisbee throwing and also face painting for the kids. The agility course will consist of jumps and hurdles, a see-saw, boardwalk, A-frame scramble, weaving, and a tunnel. This part of the event is arrive-and-participate and is meant to simply showcase and allow all dogs to take part in the course. Watch dogs gallivant about the park and the owners socialize with one another as the dogs enjoy being around other four legged friends. Local vendors will be set up throughout the park showcasing their pet-related business and the goods that they offer. Many of the vendors have been generous enough to provide different items to be used as either door prizes or as awards for the judged contests. Treat buckets with dog treats will be passed out by the staff for the dogs to enjoy.
