Opera South Dakota Presents The Breman Town Musicians

Eddie Pensier, a rooster with operatic aspirations is chased away from his farm for waking the barnyard with tenor arias. On the very same day, Baracarolle, the dog, and Dorabella, the cast, are cast out by their owner for being too old to catch rabbits and mice. The three animals run into the woods near the road to Bremen where General Boom, a retired army donkey, is marching along playing his drum. Working together as a team they overcome difficult circumstances and the newly formed Bremen Town Musicains celebrate the idea that friendship, cooperation, and respect for others is far better than facing problems alone.

This show will incorporate children into the performance. Register for Children’s Opera Camp to join in the fun onstage!

After the success of their 20th anniversary production of Macbeth, Bare Bodkins is excited to offer audiences one of Shakespeare’s most crowd-pleasing comedies: A Midsummer Night’s Dream. A Midsummer Night’s Dream has something for everybody: romance, mistaken identity, and of course plenty of mischief and magic. Bare Bodkins 21st season promises to offer much to Shakespeare fans old and new.

The 90 minute performance will take place in the ruins of the Queen Bee Mill at Falls Park. Seating is on metal bleachers with very limited room for those needing assistance to sit in lawn chairs.
