E. 6th Street Concrete Rehabilitation and Asphalt Overlay from I-229 to N. Sycamore Avenue
Project Update 9/1/2023
- Phase 1 and Phase 2: The permanent pavement markings have been applied and this portion of the project is complete and fully open to traffic.
- Concrete repairs are complete in the westbound lanes between Sycamore and Linwood Court.
- The contractor is working on the partial depth concrete repairs, full depth concrete repairs, and curb & gutter repairs in the eastbound lanes, between Linwood Court and Sycamore Avenue.
Looking Ahead:
- When concrete repairs have been completed in the eastbound lanes, the contractor will proceed to Phase 3C where they will pick up a few repairs that are located on the centerline of the street between Linwood Court and Sycamore Avenue. Work will then progress to concrete repairs in Phase 4, the area between east end of asphalt overlay to Linwood Court.
- After all concrete repairs have been made, the grinding contractor will begin diamond grinding the finished concrete pavement to provide a smooth and uniform driving surface.
Commuter Route Information:
- The eastbound lanes are closed between Linwood Court and Sycamore Avenue.
- At a minimum, one lane of traffic will always remain open in all directions.
- Access to businesses, parks and schools will be maintained. Access to side streets will be maintained if possible.
