Insects and other pests are capable of transmitting disease to man by contaminating food and food contact surfaces.

Devices used to trap insects and rodents must be of proper design to prevent contamination from dead and injured insects. Tracking powders are prohibited.

Outside openings to the food establishment must be protected to prevent the entrance of insects and rodents.

Animals are not permitted in food establishments. Support animals may be used; however, employees must wash their hands after contact with the animal.
