Maintenance/Forestry (Ages 18+)
Are you the type of person who enjoys the outdoors, plants, mowing lawns, or landscaping? The Operations Division is seeking individuals 18 years of age and older for a variety of positions. These 40-hour-per-week seasonal positions are offered as long-term (April–October) and short-term (May–August) options. No experience is necessary, as training is provided. The earning potential for a short-term employee working 40 hours per week for 13 weeks is approximately $5,200.
Aquatics (Ages 15+)
The Recreation Division offers a variety of incentives such as hiring, referral, and end-of-the-season bonuses, in addition to reimbursement pay for any certification costs. A recreation seasonal employee such as a lifeguard has a summer earning potential of approximately $7,000. More than 125 outdoor lifeguard positions are available, and indoor lifeguard opportunities are available as well. Greet customers, sell season swim passes and daily admissions, provide excellent customer service and set the tone for every visitor. An enthusiastic and friendly demeanor to every visitor is desired.
$10.50 per hour May–SeptemberMaintains constant surveillance of patrons in the facility; acts immediately and appropriately to secure safety of patrons in the event of emergency. Provides emergency care and treatment as required until the arrival of emergency medical services. Presents professional appearance and attitude at all times, and maintains a high standard of customer service. Performs various maintenance duties as directed to maintain a clean and safe facility. Must be American Red Cross certified.
$11.50 per hour May–SeptemberNo matter what their age, people need to know about water, and you are just the person to teach them water safety, swimming, and other aquatic specialties. Help prevent pool emergencies before they start through educating patrons with direct instruction. American Red Cross certification required. Candidates do not need to be LG certified.
$12 per hour May–SeptemberNot only do you have what it takes to be a Lifeguard (see above), but you are also a Lifeguard leader. Responsibilities include overseeing, instructing, planning and assessing the personnel and executing lifeguard activities. Trains the newcomers and supervises the operations that are executed in a swimming pool. Executes other pool duties and roles as advised by the pool manager. Must be American Red Cross Lifeguard and Water Safety Instructor certified.
$13 per hour May–SeptemberPool managers will assist in enforcement of policies and procedures to ensure efficient operation of pool facility including personnel management and training, scheduling, and dealing directly with customers. Presents professional appearance and attitude at all times, and maintains a high standard of customer service. This employee must have excellent organizational, communication, and public relation skills. Supervisory experience is preferred. This position requires weekend and holiday work.

Recreation Division (Ages 16+)
Supervise open gym for all ages, adult league play, and meeting room rentals. Plan and instruct various recreation activities. Must be 15 years and older, comfortable working alone, and able to lift 50 pounds. Must demonstrate excellent customer service and enthusiasm. Flexible scheduling with a variety of hours and shifts available.
$10.50 per hour September–May
Responsible for serving as a community center assistant as well as ensuring efficient operation of a facility. Present professional appearance and attitude at all times, and maintain a high standard of customer service. This employee must have excellent organizational, communication, and public relation skills. Supervisory experience is preferred. Must be available to work a variety of hours including afternoons, evenings, and weekends for 20-28 hours per week.
$16 per hour September–May

Supervise outdoor ice rinks and enforce ice rink policies. Maintain order and safety on the rinks. Ability to complete and document money transactions with accuracy. Excellent communication and customer service skills a must.
$10.50 per hour December–February (as weather permits)
Previous refereeing experience preferred. Ability to enforce league and building rules. Referees must provide uniform shirt and whistle.
$35 per game November–March; Mon., Wed., and/or Thu.
Creates and leads recreational activities for 7–12-year olds in an outdoor setting. Has knowledge of a variety of activities and board games. Is responsible for creating weekly lesson plans and implementing them. Possess a loud voice to give verbal directions. Operates a city vehicle and lifts/carries up to 40 pounds. Gives direction to the Playground Assistant and handles paperwork for daily activities.
$11 per hour May–August 40+ hours per week
Has knowledge of a variety of activities and board games, is able to take direction from Playground Leader, and is willing to implement planned activities. Possess a loud voice to give verbal directions. Must be able to lift and carry 40 pounds.

Storyland Theatre actors perform shows in outdoor summer settings. Entertaining audiences requires a positive attitude, enthusiasm, and abundant energy. Ability to sing and dance are a plus. Must be able to lift and carry 40 pounds.
