Part-Time & Seasonal Positions

Outdoor Aquatics (Ages 15+)
Greet customers, sell season swim passes and daily admissions, provide excellent customer service and set the tone for every visitor. An enthusiastic and friendly demeanor to every visitor is desired.
$15 per hour May–SeptemberMaintains constant surveillance of patrons in the facility; acts immediately and appropriately to secure safety of patrons in the event of emergency. Provides emergency care and treatment as required until the arrival of emergency medical services. Presents professional appearance and attitude at all times, and maintains a high standard of customer service. Performs various maintenance duties as directed to maintain a clean and safe facility. Must be American Red Cross certified.
$16 per hour May–SeptemberNo matter what their age, people need to know about water, and you are just the person to teach them water safety, swimming, and other aquatic specialties. Help prevent pool emergencies before they start through educating patrons with direct instruction. American Red Cross certification required. Candidates do not need to be LG certified.
$16.50 per hour May–SeptemberNot only do you have what it takes to be a Lifeguard (see above), but you are also a Lifeguard leader. Responsibilities include overseeing, instructing, planning and assessing the personnel and executing lifeguard activities. Trains the newcomers and supervises the operations that are executed in a swimming pool. Executes other pool duties and roles as advised by the pool manager. Must be American Red Cross Lifeguard and Water Safety Instructor certified.
$17 per hour May–SeptemberPool managers will assist in enforcement of policies and procedures to ensure efficient operation of pool facility including personnel management and training, scheduling, and dealing directly with customers. Presents professional appearance and attitude at all times, and maintains a high standard of customer service. This employee must have excellent organizational, communication, and public relation skills. Supervisory experience is preferred. This position requires weekend and holiday work.
$18 per hour April–September
Midco® Aquatic Center (Ages 15+)

Performs maintenance duties related to the proper operation of municipal swimming pools. Must be 18 years old or older. Work less than 28 hours per week. Possible available shifts are weekdays from 4:30 to 9:30 a.m., 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., or 5 to 10 p.m.; Saturdays from 6 a.m. to 12 p.m. or 12 to 8 p.m.; Sundays from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Oversees various recreation programs and activities. Areas of work responsibilities may include community centers, ice rinks, playground program, and athletics. Desired applicants must be 15 years of age and older, able to work a variety of hours, able to successfully provide exceptional customer service without direct supervision, and would bring positive energy to our fun team!
$15 per hour
Supervise and lead various recreation programming at the community centers or playground program. Desired applicants must be 18 years of age and older, able to work a variety of hours, and have excellent organizational, communication, and customer service skills. Prior supervisory experience is preferred. We’re looking for high-energy and motivated individuals excited to make an impact on the Sioux Falls community!
$17 per hour
Previous refereeing experience preferred. Ability to enforce league and building rules. Referees must provide uniform shirt and whistle. Desired applicants must be 18 years of age and older.
$40 per game November–March; Mon., Wed., and/or Thu.
Operations Division (Ages 18+)
Perform maintenance duties of park grounds, facilities, equipment, and care and maintenance of park and City trees, shrubs, and plants. Perform maintenance duties related to the preparation and care of athletic fields. S.D. Department of Agriculture Spray license is required for some positions. City will provide funding and allow time to test for license upon hire.
$17 per hour
