Research Associate – Health Department Job Opportunities

Rate: $38.00 - $41.00 per hour

The City of Sioux Falls Health Department is accepting applications for a part-time Research Associate.  This is a non-civil service position that may work up to 28 hours per week with no benefits. 

The scope of work will include, but is not limited to working with internal and external stakeholders to conduct program evaluation activities; executing data, research, and analytical functions to support departmental goals; writing proposals, scientific manuscripts, protocols and other technical reports; and assisting the Health Department with executing special projects as needed.

Qualifications and Skills:

Competitive applicants will have a masters or doctoral degree in epidemiology or other public health discipline; evidence of high quality scholarly productivity; strong background in research methods and evaluation design; and a minimum of two years’ experience in conducting applied research, program evaluation, public health surveillance, or grant writing in a public health setting.
