Southeastern Avenue - Sanitary Sewer Lining and Street Improvements

Beginning on Tuesday, August 13, 2019, work along South Southeastern Avenue Sanitary Sewer Lining and Street Improvements Project will move to the east side of Southeastern Avenue from 49th Street north to 41st.  Work from 41st Street to Klondike Trail will continue along the east side of Southeastern.

Traffic from 49th Street to 41st Street will be shifted to the west two lanes with one lane north bound and one lane south bound.  Traffic from 41st Street to Klondike Trail will remain in the east lanes.

The project consists of replacing sanitary sewer manholes and CIPP lining the existing sanitary sewer system from 41st Street to Klondike Trail.  Southeastern Avenue improvements from 49th Street to Klondike Trail include concrete curb and gutter patching, ADA compliant ramps, asphalt milling and asphalt overlay.

This work is to be complete by fall of 2019.

Street Closure – Eighth Avenue

Beginning on Tuesday, August 13, 2019, North Eighth Avenue will be closed between East Hermosa Drive and East Benson Road.

The City of Sioux Falls Street Division is performing road maintenance.

This work is anticipated to be complete by the end of day Tuesday, August 13, 2019.

Drivers are urged to use caution and reduce their speed while travelling near the construction area and may want to consider alternate routes.

Lane Closures – Phillips Avenue and Seventh Street

Beginning on Wednesday, August 14, 2019, construction crews will be working in the intersection of North Phillips Avenue and Seventh Street to perform concrete pavement repairs. Both northbound and southbound traffic on Phillips Avenue will be shifted to the west side of Phillips Avenue. Seventh Street will be limited to right turn in and right turn out only. There will be no parking on the west side of Phillips Avenue at Seventh Street during construction.

Weather permitting, this work is anticipated to be complete within one week...

Street Construction – West Essex Street and South Fairhall Avenue

Beginning on Wednesday, August 14, 2019, construction crews will be working in the intersection of West Essex Street and South Fairhall Avenue. Work will consist of new curb ramp openings with curb and gutter, adjacent sidewalk repairs and a new valley gutter. Two way traffic will be maintained at all times during construction with the exception of Fairhall Avenue from Essex Street to 49th Street which will be closed to through traffic during the valley gutter installation.

Weather permitting this work is anticipated to be complete within two weeks.
