Transportation of Ash Wood Now Allowed
In an effort to slow the spread of the emerald ash borer (EAB), City officials restricted the movement of ash wood within city limits between Memorial Day and Labor Day.
“Now that Labor Day has arrived and the adult EAB beetle is no longer actively moving, people can safely prune and transport ash trees within the city limits until Memorial Day 2020 without fear of spreading the infestation,” says Bryan Peterson, Urban Forestry Specialist.
Three drop-off sites are available for people wishing to dispose of ash wood.
