Year-End Building Permit Totals for 2019
Sioux Falls experienced another positive year of construction growth in 2019 as the construction valuation for 7,355 total building permits reached $771,507,597.
“Four straight years of construction values exceeding $700 million means Sioux Falls is moving in the right direction,” said Jeff Eckhoff, Director of Planning and Development Services. “We’re expecting great things in 2020 as Sioux Falls continues to build and grow."
During the past year, Sioux Falls added 1,642 total dwelling units:
- 635 single-family dwelling units (valued at $150.5 million)
- 363 town house units (valued at $64.9 million)
- 643 multifamily dwellings (valued at $65.6 million)
