Traffic Lane Switch on 57th Street

The traffic switch originally scheduled to occur on Wednesday, July 29, 2020, had been delayed to Thursday, July 30, 2020. Traffic on 57th Street between Western Avenue and Minnesota Avenue will be switched from the south side of the street to the new asphalt on the north side of the street as the contractor moves into the next phase of construction. 

One lane of traffic will be maintained in each direction at all times. This work is expected to be complete in the fall of 2020.

Drivers are urged to use caution and reduce their speed while travelling near the construction area and may want to consider alternate routes.

Lane Closure – 12th Street

Beginning on Friday, July 31, 2020, both westbound lanes on 12th Street will be closed at Willow Avenue to allow crews to perform concrete pavement repairs. Westbound traffic will be maintained in the center turn lane. Eastbound traffic will not be affected.

Weather permitting, this work is anticipated to be complete within one week for each repair.

Street Closure – North Sycamore Street

Beginning at 7 a.m. on Friday, July 31, 2020, North Sycamore Avenue will be closed to through traffic between Producer Lane and Hall Avenue. The City of Sioux Falls Street Department will be performing gravel road work.

Weather permitting, this work is anticipated to be complete by noon on Friday, July 31, 2020.

Lane Closure Update – West 41st Street

The outside westbound lane of West 41st Street will be closed west of Greenwood Avenue to Valley View Road until July 30, 2020, at 5 p.m. The City of Sioux Falls will be performing an overlay on Valley View Road.

Street Closure at 69th Street and Southeastern Roundabout

Beginning at 7 a.m. on Thursday, July 30, 2020, the roundabout at the intersection of 69th Street and Southeastern Avenue will be closed.

The City of Sioux Falls Street Department will be applying a Slurry Seal. Weather permitting, this work is anticipated to be complete by 5 p.m. Thursday, July 30, 2020.
