This notice provides the public an opportunity to examine and comment on amendment #4 to the 2020 Annual Action Plan for the City of Sioux Falls for a period of five days. Low- and moderate-income persons, racial and ethnic minorities, non-English speaking persons, and persons with disabilities are specifically encouraged to review and comment on the proposed amendment. The Action Plan is part of the City’s Consolidated Plan. It identifies specific activities to be undertaken with the use of federal funding from both the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program and Home Investment Partnerships (HOME) program. Anyone wishing to comment on the proposed amendment should do so in writing and send the same to firstname.lastname@example.org or to the Housing Division, P.O. Box 7402, Sioux Falls, SD 57117-7402. Written comments must include the name and address of the individual submitting the comment. The comment period ends at 5 p.m. on September 30, 2020. The Amended Plan can be obtained for review online at siouxfalls.org/planning-dev/planning/affordable-housing or at the Housing Division office at City Center, 231 N. Dakota Ave., Sioux Falls, SD.
Up to $285,000 of CDBG-CV funds will be provided for operations of a second recovery center for homeless people affected by the coronavirus pandemic. Up to $198,206 of CDBG-CV funds will be provided for a housing clinic, a single-entry point into housing services, for start-up operational costs.
Funding for the above projects will be from funds unused from the first recovery center and the Bishop Dudley Hospitality House operational costs. These projects were funded with Emergency Solution Grant (ESG) dollars.
