Public Hearing

The City of Sioux Falls Housing Division will hold two public hearings on Wednesday, May 5, 2021, at 3:30 and 5:30 p.m. at the Downton Library. To RSVP or submit comments if you cannot attend either public hearing, email mcerny@siouxfalls.org.

The purpose of each hearing is to obtain comments on unmet housing and community needs in Sioux Falls. This input will be used in the development of the City’s 2022 Annual Action Plan, which will be submitted to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). The plan will identify the sources and uses of funds from the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program and the Home Investment Partnerships (HOME) Program. It is estimated that in 2022, the City will receive approximately $1,038,000 of CDBG funds and $508,000 of HOME funds from HUD. The City also expects to receive approximately $427,697 from CDBG program income and $159,521 from HOME program income. It is estimated that all of these funds will address the needs of low-income residents.

Please provide additional feedback by completing the online needs survey at  https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/housing-needs. The survey will close on May 21st.

Applications for financial assistance from the 2022 CDBG and HOME programs are available at www.siouxfalls.org/housingapplication or by contacting the Housing Division. Applications must be received by 5 p.m. on Friday, May 14, 2021.
