Public Notice

This notice provides the public an opportunity to examine and comment on a change in a proposed activity and the use of land for the City of Sioux Falls for a period of 15 days. Low- and moderate-income persons, racial and ethnic minorities, non-English speaking persons, and persons with disabilities are specifically encouraged to review and comment on the proposed change. Anyone wishing to comment on the proposed change should do so in writing and send the same to the Housing Division, PO Box 7402, Sioux Falls, SD, 57117-7402. Written comments must include the name and address of the individual submitting the comment. The comment period ends at 5 p.m. on April 26, 2021.

Six proposed activities located at West 7th Street, Sioux Falls, under the Neighborhood Revitalization program will be canceled. Six lots were purchased with $79,678.62 of CDBG funds to build six owner-occupied townhomes for six eligible households with incomes at or below 80 percent of area median income. At this time, the City has not identified a new use of the property that qualifies as meeting one of the national objectives in 24 CFR § 570.208. If the City cannot identify a new use of the property that fits these requirements through this public comment period, the City will need to repay the funds to HUD as required under 24 CFR § 570.505(b) to be used for future CDBG eligible activities as stated above in this paragraph. As allowed under 24 CFR § 570.505(b), the City is opting to retain the property for future use.
