City Releases Licensing Applications for Medical Cannabis Dispensaries, Testing Facilities
Licensing applications for businesses to apply to operate medical cannabis dispensaries or testing facilities within city limits are now available. Interested businesses are encouraged to review the application for the required documentation, which is available at siouxfalls.org/cannabis.
The application submission window will be provided at a later date, and no applications will be received until that window is open. In accordance with the City’s zoning and licensing ordinances regulating medical cannabis, which go into effect on Friday, Oct. 1, 2021, there will be a lottery for the selection of the dispensary licenses. Information about the lottery process will be outlined at a later date.
There is a multistep process for interested businesses to apply to operate medical cannabis dispensaries or testing facilities in the city limits. The business must obtain a license from the City, a State registration certificate issued by the South Dakota Department of Health, and a certificate of occupancy from the City.
