Phillips Avenue Reconstruction - Eighth Street to Tenth Street Including Ninth Street and River Road

The City of Sioux Falls will be reconstructing Phillips Avenue from Eighth Street to Tenth Street including Ninth Street and River Road in 2022.

A public meeting will be held on Thursday, November 18, 2021, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at the Downtown Library located at 200 North Dakota Avenue, Sioux Falls, in Meeting Room A/B. Please enter through the main entrance.

City Engineering staff and Stockwell Engineers will be available to discuss the project and answer questions or concerns.

Street Closure – Cleveland Avenue

Beginning at 2 p.m., Monday, November 15, 2021, Cleveland Avenue from Tenth Street to Sixth Street will be closed.

The City of Sioux Falls Street Division will be preforming surface repairs. Weather permitting, this work is anticipated to be complete by Tuesday, November 16, 2021 at 5 pm.

Drivers are urged to use caution and reduce their speed while travelling near the construction area and may want to consider alternate routes.

Street Closure – Ash Street and Chambers Street

Beginning at 1 p.m., Monday, November 15, 2021, Ash Street and Chambers Street from Fourth Avenue to Cliff Avenue will be closed.

The City of Sioux Falls Street Division will be preforming surface repairs. Weather permitting, this work is anticipated to be complete by Tuesday, November 16, 2021 at 5 pm.

Drivers are urged to use caution and reduce their speed while travelling near the construction area and may want to consider alternate routes.

Emergency Street Closure – Cleveland Avenue

Beginning immediately, South Cleveland Avenue will be closed between East 13th Street and East 15th Street. The City of Sioux Falls Public Works Department will be performing water valve repairs.

This work is anticipated to be complete by 4:30 p.m. on November 15, 2021. 

Drivers are urged to use caution and reduced speeds while travelling near the construction area and may want to consider alternate routes.

Intersection Closure – Covell Avenue and 29th Street

Beginning on Monday, November 15, 2021, the intersection of South Covell Avenue and 29th Street will be closed to allow construction crews to perform curb and utility work.

Weather permitting, this work is anticipated to be completed within one week.

Street Closure – Duluth Ave

Beginning at 7 a.m., Tuesday, November 16, 2021, South Duluth Avenue will be closed to thru traffic between West 49th Street and West 43rd Street.

Barnhart Crane will be working on the tower and the work is expected to be complete before end of day.

Street Closure Update – Cleveland Avenue

Beginning after 8 a.m., Tuesday, November 16th, 2021, Cleveland Avenue from Tenth Street to Sixth Street will be closed.

Lane Closure – 41st Street

Beginning on Wednesday, November 17, 2021, the outside westbound lane of 41st Street will be closed 150 feet east of Gibson Avenue to allow crews to perform work on the water valve.  The lane closure will be up during the hours of 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The work is expected to be completed by Friday, November 19, 2021.
