Interview Now to Lock in Your Summer Position With Sioux Falls Parks and Recreation

Sioux Falls Parks and Recreation has increased wages and is looking to fill hundreds of summer seasonal job vacancies. Parks and Recreation hires a variety of seasonal positions each year, ranging from lifeguard to park maintenance positions.

Are you the type of person who enjoys the outdoors, athletic fields, plants, mowing lawns, or landscaping? The Operations Division is seeking individuals 18 years of age and older for a variety of positions. These 40-hour-per-week seasonal positions are offered as long-term (April–October) and short-term (May–August) options. No experience is necessary, as training is provided. The earning potential for a short-term employee working 40 hours per week for 13 weeks is approximately $8,840.

The Recreation Division offers a variety of positions from community centers to playground program and aquatics.

Recreation seasonal employees, such as a lifeguard, has a summer earning potential of approximately $8,500. There is still time for those interested in lifeguarding to register for certification courses at midcoaquaticcenter.org/certifications. Certification cost reimbursement is also provided.

Sioux Falls Parks and Recreation will host walk-in interviews on the following dates:

Aquatics Interviews (Ages: 15+)

at the Midco^® Aquatic Center, 1601 South Western Avenue.

For all aquatic and lifeguard positions.
February 21–22 and March 21–22, 3–6 p.m.

Maintenance and Forestry Interviews (Ages: 18+)

at the Park Shop, 2401 West 49th Street.

For maintenance, mowing, forestry, and field maintenance positions.
February 23–24 and March 9–10, 1–4 p.m.
