41st Street and I-29 Interchange Reconstruction

Beginning Monday, April 4, 2022, the eastbound lanes of West 41st Street will be closed between I-29 and Marion Road to allow crews to work on the reconstruction of the West 41st Street and I-29 Interchange. One lane of traffic in each direction will be maintained in the westbound lanes. Additionally, the farthest outside right turn lane of I-29, heading west onto West 41st Street, will remain closed.

South Meadow Avenue will reopen to traffic by the end of day on April 4, 2022, between West 39th Street and West 41st Street.

The overall project includes construction of a diverging diamond interchange at I-29, widening West 41st Street to three lanes in each direction between South Marion Road and I-29, underground utility upgrades, new concrete surfacing, and a center median on West 41st Street.

Drivers are urged to use caution and reduce their speed while travelling near the construction area and may want to consider alternate routes.

Street Closures – Tallgrass Avenue

Beginning Monday, April 4, 2022, Tallgrass Avenue will be closed between West 74th Street and West 85th Street to allow construction crews to install new water main and sanitary sewer. Motorists should utilize South Louise Avenue, West 69th Street, and West 85th Street as alternate routes.

Weather permitting, this work is anticipated to be completed by mid-June of 2022.

Drivers are urged to use caution and reduce their speed while travelling near the construction area and may want to consider alternate routes.

Street Closure – Willow Avenue

Beginning on Monday, April 4, 2022, Willow Avenue between West Seventh Street and 450 feet to the north will be closed to traffic to allow construction crews to install sanitary sewer, storm sewer, water main, curb and gutter, and asphalt paving.

During construction, there will be no detour route. This work is anticipated to be completed by the end of June 2022.

Drivers are urged to use caution and reduce their speed while traveling near the construction area and may want to consider alternate routes.

Marion Road Storm Drainage Repairs

The work on South Marion Road, originally scheduled to begin on Wednesday, March 30, 2022,  has been rescheduled to begin on Monday, April 4, 2022.

Beginning on Monday, April 4, 2022, the southbound lanes of South Marion Road will be closed at the intersection of West Silver Valley Drive to allow construction crews to perform street and storm drainage repairs. Southbound single lane traffic will be maintained in the center turn lane. Northbound traffic will not be affected.

West Silver Valley Drive will also be closed to all through traffic at South Marion Road as part of this work.

This work is expected to be complete in approximately two weeks, weather permitting.

Veterans’ Park and Terrace Park Construction Pump Station 215

Beginning on Monday, April 4, 2022, sanitary sewer work will resume in Veterans’ Park and Terrace Park for repairs to the sanitary sewer system. The east entrance of Veterans’ Park will be closed. Traffic will be directed to the west entrance of Veterans’ Park. Portions of sidewalks are closed to pedestrian traffic.

Work is anticipated to be complete by June of 2022.

The Park will remain open to public use with restrictions during construction. Park users are urged to use caution near the construction area and stay out of the work area.

Tomar Park Improvements

Beginning Monday morning, April 4, 2022, construction will begin at Tomar Park. Beck and Hofer Construction will begin work on improvements to expand and enhance the tennis complex. The work is expected to be completed at the end of August 2022.

The Park will remain open to public use with restrictions during construction. Park users are urged to use caution near the construction area and stay out of the work area.
