Reading Bridge Spring Book Drive at Siouxland Libraries

Encourage kids in our community to continue reading through the summer by donating gently used children’s books to Reading Bridge.

The books will be distributed to children who participate in the Summer Tutoring Program that is offered by the Reading Bridge nonprofit organization.

This year marks the 21st year of the program whose mission is to minimize summer learning loss by offering free summer literacy tutoring instruction to students who have completed Grades K–5.

Please deposit any new or like-new books into donation boxes at any Siouxland Libraries location. Books will be collected April 11–25. We are in need of picture books, learn-to-read books, chapter books, fiction novels, poetry collections, biographies, classics, and nonfiction books. We are unable to accept textbooks, encyclopedias, magazines, CDs, DVDs, or videos.

The goal is to collect 1,000 books to be distributed at tutoring sites. For more information, contact the Downtown Library at 605-367-8700. For a list of library locations and their hours of operation, please visit https://www.siouxlandlib.org/services.
