49th Street Construction
Beginning on Friday, April 29, 2022, construction will start at the intersection of West 49th Street and Western Avenue. Traffic will be reduced to one lane for northbound traffic.
Pedestrian traffic along Western Avenue will remain on the east side. Traffic control devices will separate the work area from the sidewalk. Flaggers will assist pedestrian traffic as needed.
This work is anticipated to be complete within 30 working days.
Drivers are urged to use caution and reduce their speed while travelling near the construction area and will want to consider alternate routes.
Intersection Closures – Tallgrass Avenue and 85th Street
Beginning on Wednesday, April 27, 2022, the intersection of Tallgrass Avenue and 85th Street will be closed to allow construction crews to upgrade utilities. Motorists should utilize Louise Avenue, 69th Street, and 85th Street as alternate routes.
Weather permitting this work is anticipated to be completed within two weeks.

Lane Closures – Louise Avenue
Beginning on Monday morning, May 2, 2022, the inside southbound, inside northbound, and the northbound left turn lane will all be closed on South Louise Avenue, south of 69th Street, at the Avera/Lewis access to allow crews to remove the temporary delineators and install permanent concrete median curbing for the northbound left turn access only. There will be no southbound left turn.
This is in conjunction with the intersection project at 69th Street and Ralph Rogers Road. The project is anticipated to be complete late summer 2022.

Lane Closures –12th Street
Beginning on Wednesday, April 27, 2022, after the morning rush, the eastbound middle and westbound middle lanes of West 12th Street will be closed from Marion Road to the I-29 interchange to allow crews to perform joint resealing operations.
At minimum, two lanes of traffic in each direction will remain open at all times. Access to businesses will also be maintained.
Weather permitting, this work is anticipated to be complete by the end of this week.
