Street Closure - Sherman Avenue
Beginning on Monday, July 18, 2022, Sherman Avenue from Third Street to Fourth Street will be closed to allow construction crews to work. Work will include complete reconstruction of the roadway and underground utilities.
Work for this phase of the project is anticipated to be completed within five to six weeks.
Drivers are urged to use caution and reduce their speed while travelling near the construction area and may want to consider alternate routes.
Cliff Avenue - 49th Street to 56th Street CIPP Storm Sewer Lining
Starting the week of July 11, 2022, work will begin to prepare for the installation of a CIPP liner for a 72 inch RCP culvert located under Cliff Avenue near 54th Street. Installation of the liner is anticipated to begin on July 18, 2022.
Once installation of the CIPP liner begins, crews will work 24/7 until the liner is inserted and cured.
During the CIPP work, homes and businesses and work area should expect noise from the preparation operations through installation operations due to various equipment needed to complete the work.
Odors similar to plastic or glue may be present during the installation and curing of the liner. Odors may be unpleasant but are not harmful.
The entire lining process should be complete within one week.
Lane Closure - Phillips Avenue
Beginning on Tuesday, July 19, 2022, the northbound parking lane of Phillips Avenue between Sixth Street and Seventh Street will be closed to allow crews to perform concrete pavement repairs. As work progresses, the lane closures will move to the driving lane and the southbound lanes with traffic being shifted around the work area. Two-way traffic will be maintained at all times during construction. Parking will not be allowed near the work area.
All work is expected to be complete within two weeks with favorable weather conditions. Drivers are urged to use caution and reduce their speed while travelling near the construction area and may want to consider alternate routes.
Lane Closure - 18th Street
Beginning on Monday, July 18, 2022, the eastbound lane of 18th Street will be closed from Kiwanis Avenue to Garfield Avenue to allow crews to perform concrete pavement patching. Eastbound traffic will utilize the center turn lane.
The lane closure locations will vary as the work moves east toward Lake Avenue. One lane of traffic in each direction will be maintained at all times.
Work is expected to be complete in five to six weeks with favorable weather conditions.
