River Greenway Bike Trail Closure – Sixth Street and Big Sioux

Beginning on Tuesday, September 6, 2022, East Sixth Street will be closed between Phillips Avenue and Weber Avenue.

H&W Contracting will be working on sanitary sewer installation.

The bike trail on the east side of the Big Sioux River Greenway will be detoured via the following graphic. 

This work is anticipated to be complete in mid-October.

Drivers are urged to use caution and reduced speeds while travelling near the construction area and may want to consider alternate routes.

Lane Closure – 12th Street

Beginning on Tuesday, September 6, 2022, portions of the westbound outside lane of West 12th Street between Interstate 29 and Valley View Road will be closed to traffic to allow crews to perform concrete sidewalk repairs.

Weather permitting, this work is anticipated to be complete within one week.

Lane Closure – Madison Street

Beginning on Tuesday September 6, 2022, the outside eastbound lane on West Madison Street will be closed, between Harlem Avenue and Kiwanis Avenue.

Q3 Contracting Inc will be working in the area.

This work is anticipated to be complete by the end of the day.

Street Closure – 33rd Street

Beginning at 6:30 a.m. on Tuesday, September 06, 2022, West 33rd Street will be closed between Western Avenue and Kiwanis Avenue.

The City of Sioux Falls crews will be installing asphalt overlay.

Weather permitting, this work is anticipated to be complete by 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, September 7, 2022.

Utility Work – Glenview Road

Beginning on Tuesday, September 6, 2022, crews will be performing repairs to the sanitary sewer at South Glenview Road between 56th Street and 57th Street. Glenview Road will be closed to vehicle traffic for the duration of the work. 

Weather permitting, this work is anticipated to be complete within one week.

Lane Closures – Fourth Avenue

Beginning on Wednesday September 7, 2022, North Fourth Avenue will be reduced to two lanes, north of Hermosa Drive. One lane of traffic in each direction will be maintained.

First Rate Excavate will be installing new sewer.

This work is anticipated be complete in one week.

Utility Work – 54th Street

Beginning on Tuesday, September 6, 2022, crews will be performing repairs to the sanitary sewer at various locations along East 54th Street between Cliff Avenue and Briarwood Avenue. There will be intermittent short term lane restrictions and road closures as the work progresses. 

Weather permitting, this work is anticipated to be complete within two weeks.

Lane Closure – Kiwanis Avenue

Beginning on Wednesday morning, September 7, 2022, the outside northbound lane on North Kiwanis Avenue will be closed at Bailey Street.
