Sioux Area Metro Service Canceled for Wednesday

Sioux Area Metro (SAM) service is canceled for Wednesday, Feb. 22, 2023. Service was suspended this morning as officials monitored weather and road conditions.

“With blizzard conditions forecast through the rest of the day, we anticipate travel will become increasingly difficult and potentially dangerous for SAM’s drivers and passengers,” Robert Speeks, SAM General Manager. “As such, we are canceling service to ensure our team and passengers’ safety.”

Officials will assess weather and road conditions later this evening to determine any necessary adjustments to schedules or routes for tomorrow, Thursday, Feb. 23.
