Lane Closure - 22nd Street

Beginning on Monday, May 8, the eastbound lane of 22nd Street will be closed from Kiwanis Avenue to Lincoln Road to allow crews to perform concrete pavement patching. Eastbound traffic will utilize the center turn lane.

This is the first phase of a project to perform concrete pavement patching on 22nd Street between Kiwanis Avenue and Minnesota Avenue. The lane closure locations will vary as the work progresses. One lane of traffic in each direction will be maintained at all times.

Work is expected to be completed in six to eight weeks.

Drivers are urged to use caution and reduced speeds while travelling near the construction area and may want to consider alternate routes.

Lane Closure – Minnesota Avenue

Beginning on Monday, May 8, 2023, the outside southbound lane on Minnesota Avenue will be closed at 25th Street to allow crews to perform a concrete pavement repair. One southbound lane will be maintained at all times during construction. The west sidewalk will also be closed between 24th Street and 25th Street with pedestrian traffic being detoured to the east side of Minnesota Avenue.

All work is expected to be completed within one week with favorable weather conditions.

Lane Closure – 9th Street

Beginning on Monday, May 8, 2023, work will begin on Phillips Avenue on the north side of the intersection at 9th Street to allow crews to perform a concrete pavement repair. Two-way traffic will be maintained at all times on Phillips Avenue during construction. The westbound right turn lane on 9th Street will also be closed and traffic will be shifted to inside lane.

All work is expected to be completed within one week with favorable weather conditions.

Street Closure – North Sycamore Avenue

Beginning on Monday, May 8, 2023, North Sycamore Avenue will be closed from 60th Street North to Benson Road to allow crews to complete roadway improvements.

Work is anticipated to be completed by the end of May.

Lane Closures – 6th Street

Beginning on Thursday, May 11, 2023, concrete repair crews will begin construction at the intersection of 6th Street and Cleveland Avenue. The outside lanes will be closed on 6th Street from I-229 to approximately Shepherd Avenue and on Cleveland Avenue, 650 feet in either direction of the intersection.

Work will begin with saw cutting curb and gutter repair areas and progress to removals, placing concrete for the curb repairs, then an asphalt overlay. Over the next few months, concrete repairs will continue east on 6th Street to Sycamore Avenue.

Traffic will be maintained in all directions at all times. Access to side streets, businesses, parks, and schools will also be maintained.

This work is anticipated to be completed by mid-October.
