Street Closure – Western Avenue
Beginning on Tuesday morning, May 9, 2023, South Western Avenue from 37th Street to 39th Street will be closed from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. A detour will be in place.
The Sioux Falls Street Division will be performing road maintenance work.
Weather permitting, this work is anticipated to be open to traffic by 3:00 p.m.
Drivers are urged to use caution and reduce their speed while traveling near the construction area and may want to consider alternate routes.
Street Closure – Scarlet Oak Trail
Beginning on Wednesday, May 10, 2023, at approximately 9 a.m., South Scarlet Oak Trail will be closed between Black Walnut Street and Fiddlewood Drive.
Tull Companies will be setting a crane. This work is anticipated to be complete within a few hours.

Lane Closure – 26th Street
Beginning on Wednesday, May 10, 2023, the westbound lane on West 26th Street between Spring Avenue and Norton Avenue will be closed. Traffic will be shifted to the center turn lane.
MJ Electric will be setting a pole for Xcel Energy.
This work is anticipated to be complete before the end of the day.

Lane Closures – Sixth Street
Beginning on Thursday, May 11, 2023, concrete repair crews will begin construction at the intersection of East Sixth Street and Cleveland Avenue. The outside lanes will be closed on Sixth Street from I-229 to approximately Shepherd Avenue and Cleveland Avenue, 650 feet in either direction of the intersection.
Traffic will be maintained in all directions as well as access to side streets, businesses, parks, and schools.
Work will begin with saw cutting curb and gutter repair areas and progress to removals, placing concrete for the curb repairs, then an asphalt overlay. Over the next few months, concrete repairs will continue east on Sixth Street to Sycamore Avenue.
This work is anticipated to be complete by mid-October.

Lane Closure – Tickman Street
Beginning on Thursday, May 11, 2023, the westbound lane will be closed on West Tickman Street, just east of Career Avenue. Traffic will stop and alternate through the closure.
Backhaus will be working on new utilities.
This work is anticipated to be complete in about a week.
