Public Notice of Housing Assessment

The City of Sioux Falls’ Housing Division is conducting a housing needs assessment and we are seeking input from community stakeholders.

We are hosting two meetings intended for organizations servicing housing needs, such as public and private agencies, government entities, healthcare services, advocates for individuals with special needs, senior citizen organizations, faith-based organizations, community action agencies, and the area’s public housing agency, to provide feedback on housing needs within the city. We encourage attendance and participation from organizational representatives and members, and service recipients.

The meetings will be held on Monday, June 5, 2023, from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. and 5 to 6 p.m. at City Center, Room 110. Registration is not required.

The goals of the meetings are to collect input from Sioux Falls residents on the community’s housing and development needs and evaluate performance of the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and HOME programs. The City of Sioux Falls is estimated to receive $1,548,815 in CDBG funds and program income and $729,610 in HOME funds and program income for program year 2024.

In addition to the meetings, we request housing partners take this SURVEY to provide feedback as to how the City can best utilize its CDBG and HOME funding and program income for the next program year. The survey will conclude at 6 p.m. on June 5, 2023.
