Minnesota Avenue Construction

Beginning on Tuesday, May 30, 2023, the outside traffic lanes on North Minnesota Avenue will be intermittently closed between Second Street and Russell Street to allow the contractor to install street lighting. All lanes of traffic will be open by the end of each day.

This work is anticipated to be complete by mid-June.

Drivers are urged to use caution and reduced speeds while travelling near the construction area and may want to consider alternate routes.

Lane Closure – 57th Street

Beginning on Tuesday, May 30, 2023, the outside westbound lane on West 57th Street will be closed, between Sundowner Avenue and Sertoma Avenue.

Q3 Contracting will be installing a MidAmerican Energy gas line.

This work is anticipated to be complete within three weeks.

Street Closure – Western Avenue

Beginning on Tuesday morning, May 30, 2023, South Western Avenue from 15th Street to 18th Street will be closed from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. A detour will be in place.

The City of Sioux Falls Street Division will be performing road maintenance work.

Weather permitting, this work is anticipated to be open to traffic by 4 p.m.

Lane Closure - Louise Avenue

Beginning on Tuesday, May 30, 2023, the inside northbound lane on South Louise Avenue will be closed south of 74th Street to allow crews to perform a concrete repair. One northbound lane of traffic will be maintained during construction. Southbound traffic will not be impacted by this work.

Weather permitting, this work is anticipated to be complete within one week.

Storm Drainage Repairs - Cliff Avenue

Beginning on Tuesday, May 30, 2023, the outside northbound and outside southbound lanes on South Cliff Avenue will be intermittently closed from 10th Street to 26th Street to allow construction crews to perform storm drainage repairs. One lane of traffic in each direction will be maintained in the inside lanes.

Weather permitting, this work is anticipated to be complete in approximately one week.

Street Closure – Shepherd Avenue

Beginning on Wednesday, May 31, 2023, North Shepherd Avenue will be closed at Sixth Street to allow construction crews to repair the concrete valley gutter and fillets.

As a detour, motorists should use Twin Towers Circle, Fifth Street, Shawnee Avenue, Third Street to Shepherd Avenue.

This work is anticipated to be complete in two weeks.

Street Closure – 20th Street

Beginning early morning on Wednesday, May 31, 2023, East 20th Street will be closed to thru traffic, between Seventh Avenue and Cliff Avenue.

Northwest Corporation will be setting a crane.

This work is anticipated to be complete before the end of the day.
