Enlarged Plan – South
Enlarged Plan – South
The overall master plan for Falls Park West better connects visitors to Falls Park, Phillips Avenue, and the Big Sioux River while also providing opportunities for gathering and circulation throughout the space. The southern area of the site will be home to the “Levitt at the Falls” performance venue. With a goal to create the highest quality visitor experience, the following design elements are considerations for improvements to the festival grounds space:
- A gently sloping lawn facing south and looking towards downtown, that will allow the community to come together for a wide variety of performances
- A network of connective pathways for pedestrian circulation of the space
- Pedestrian and ambient lighting for safety and atmosphere
- A covered stage with a soft undulating canopy that complements the adjacent river
- Large movable doors at the back of the stage that allow enclosure of the stage when closed, or a great view of the downtown when slid open
- Dressing rooms, a restroom, and support spaces adjacent to the stage to facilitate a wide variety of performances
- A sloping lawn and vantage point at the side of the stage, offering a unique viewing experience
- Elevated platforms and seating locations to accommodate people with disabilities
- An elevated hospitality terrace overlooking the lawn with great views towards the stage
- A video board adjacent to the stage for enhanced viewing
- Public restrooms to serve the festival grounds area
- Areas with ample power for vendors to serve concert patrons
- A variety of architectural features, including informational and wayfinding signage
- A design that will blend in and complement future Falls West Park improvements
