Hours & Other Information
Home to hundreds of animals – from anteaters to zebras – the Great Plains Zoo offers up-close views of animals from all over the globe, including giraffes, tigers, rhinos and a jumping, hooting array of primates.
Start your visit by meeting our troop of Snow Monkeys as they loll about their exhibit. Stop by our Asian cat exhibit and see our majestic tigers. Stroll around our African Savannah and visit giraffes, meerkats, zebras and more. Visit our Hy-Vee Face-to-Face Farm to feed and pet our goats or get a kiss from a sheep!
During the summer season, take a train ride around Africa (the exhibit, not the continent), or a whirl on the Sanford Carrousel.
The Zoo also includes the Delbridge Museum of Natural History, with a one-in-the-world collection of 150 mounted animals, including 38 "vanishing species”.
Learn about nature and get up-close to the Zoo’s animal ambassadors during spring and fall ZooCub classes, summer ZooCamps, overnight ZooZnoozes, and traveling ZooMobile programs. The Zoo also offers a variety of family-friendly events throughout the year including Santa at the Zoo, Zippity Zoo Day and ZooBoo.
The Great Plains Zoo is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. with the last admission at 4 p.m. daily.
Visit the Zoo's website for more information.
