Where can I store my garbage cans?

Garbage cans should be stored in a hidden area on non-collection days. Common places to store your cans are inside the garage, or along the side and back walls outside your home.

Cans should not be stored in the front of the home unless there is no other viable option. Please move cans away from the street on non-collection days.

When can I set my garbage cans out?

Garbage cans can be set on the curb starting at 6 p.m. the night before collection day. The cans should be put away no later than 11 p.m. on collection day. Garbage cans cannot be overflowing, on the sidewalk, or block the view of traffic.

How do I get garbage cans for my home?

The City of Sioux Falls does not provide offer service or cans to its residents. Contact a local garbage hauler for rates and services.
