E. 6th Street Concrete Rehabilitation and Asphalt Overlay from I-229 to N. Sycamore Avenue

Project Update 5/1/2023    

Commuter Route Information:  

• This project is anticipated to begin in May 2023. 
• Lane closures will be in place. 
• At a minimum, one lane of traffic will always remain open in both directions.

Project Milestones

Phase 1:  Outside lanes - E. 6th Street from I-229 to 1300 feet east of the Cleveland Avenue Intersection and the outside lanes of Cleveland Avenue, 650 feet north and south of the 6th Street intersection. 

1. Curb & gutter and fillet repairs
2. ADA sidewalk ramp upgrades
3. Mill concrete surface
4. Asphalt overlay
5. Seeding & topsoil placement
6. Pavement Markings

Phase 2:  Inside lanes - E. 6th Street from I-229 to 1300 feet east of the Cleveland Avenue Intersection and the outside lanes of Cleveland Avenue, 650 feet north and south of the 6th Street intersection. 

1. Asphalt overlay
2. Pavement Markings

Phase 3A:  Westbound lanes - E. 6th Street from approximately Linwood Court to west of Sycamore Avenue.

1. Curb & gutter and fillet repairs
2. Full depth concrete panel and joint repairs
3. Partial depth concrete pavement repairs
4. ADA sidewalk ramp upgrades 
5. Seeding & topsoil placement

Phase 3B:  Eastbound lanes - E. 6th Street from approximately Linwood Court to west of Sycamore Avenue.

1. Curb & gutter and fillet repairs
2. Full depth concrete panel and joint repairs
3. Partial depth concrete pavement repairs
4. ADA sidewalk ramp upgrades 
5. Seeding & topsoil placement

Phase 3C:  Inside lanes - E. 6th Street from approximately Linwood Court to west of Sycamore Avenue.

Phase 5:  All lanes - E. 6th Street from 1300 feet east of the Cleveland Avenue Intersection to west of Sycamore Avenue.

1. Diamond grinding of concrete pavement surface
2. Reseal concrete pavement joints
